I propose to create an old car magazine, that will include photographs and articles about people and their cars. The magazine will be mostly about the photographs and typography, and on the same level with Martha Stewart magazine. The intended audience for this magazine will men and women aged 20-40. The magazine will consist of four articles and three reviews of car shows. I haven't yet chosen my subjects. The articles will contain a series of questions. The car's section will have the listed car parts and a little about the vehicle. This will help in creating a good body of text to make into an article. The show reviews will tell about the show, if it happens every year, how long it has been happening, etc. This magazine may or may not have ads in it. The photography will be done over the summer months because of scheduled showings, and because of the salt on the roads in the winter. I have been collecting magazines of all types to look into the best possible layout for this magazine. When I am finished I would like to have something that could be put on a shelf in a newspaper stand. Bill Kelly, 11 may 05
For my Seminar project I propose creating a magazine specific to Kustom Kar Kulture. The content will include photographic images that will be taken by myself along with copy that will be created and typographically treated. Design wise I would like the magazine to be at level with a martha stewart magazine / publication. My demographic is men and women alike, ages ranging from twenty to forty years old. Who are already educated about this particular scene. The need for this type of magazine is not only in content but in combining content with the inherent design and art that plays a powerful role in this particular field. The combining of these ideas is as of yet unexplored making this dually interesting for myself. The articles in the magazine will be two reviews of specific cars including interviews of the cars' owners. Also two synopsis / reviews of cars shows. My final goals consist of a moderate size full magazine. Promotional work including but not limited to mailers, stickers and advertisements. Bill Kelly, 6 september 05 |
