For my Senior Seminar project, I will be exploring aspects of zoo information and exhibit design, for this is the field I would like to become a part of after graduation.

I will start with a fictional zoo and design its logo complete with iconography for the zoo. For the informational aspect, I will create a brochure about the zoo that is also a map. I will make informational posters for the exhibit, a website for further information, and a small booklet for people that are interested to find out more at the exhibit. I will also investigate promotional design. Here I will promote this fictional exhibit through banner, poster, advertising and direct mail design.
There are a handful of zoos and aquariums in the area, and I will be traveling to some of them to get more ideas and inspiration. I have also sent away for lot of printed media from zoos around the world.

For my Senior Seminar project, I will be exploring aspects of either zoo or museum exhibit design, for this is the field I would like to become a part of after graduation. Some areas I would like to look into are banner, poster, and signage design. Over the summer I plan to visit zoos and museums to take notes, get ideas, and gain a better understanding of the exhibit environment. I hope to get in contact with the design department at Roger Williams Zoo in Rhode Island and possibly get a "behind the scenes" look. Ultimately, I would love to create my own exhibit in context of the gallery.
