Lost Memories

As we grow, our problems tend to grow with us. However, c'est la vie, as they say in France. Most of us deal with it but all of us grasp on to those treasured moments of the past. Lost Memories is the topic of my thesis. I am embracing my memories by generating a book using photos that I have taken throughout the years, mainly in the last ten. A lot had changed in the last decade, a lot had passed as well as born again. My goal is to share my memories and emotions of that particular moment in time, with the viewer. One of the very important components of this project, that will help me to accomplish this effect is a silk screening process. It simply brings an image to life or rather gives it its own. I am also incorporating quotes that are taken from random books and online sources. These quotes come from average people who are also sharing their thoughts and emotions. To unify these images as a whole, as well as to expose the fact that the following comes from one person only, I have included a frame from my own MRI scan. The frame consists of detailed information including; name, gender, date and certain medical measurements of the brain.

Final output will be in digital form although as mentioned before, silk screening process is a significant part of the project. My inspiration comes from the classroom where the instructors never cease to captivate their students with yet another great artist. Artists like Ansel Easton Adams, Camilo Jose Vergara and Andy Warhol whose work is a major inspiration to me.
