Music Type When children in kindergarten create art, the immediacy with which they work is of great interest to me. They make decisions and very rarely go back on them. As an adult, it is difficult to unlearn what years of schooling have already taught me. I have developed decision-making skills during the course of my life and would like to try and distance myself from them. I created a way to fake this immediate decision-making used by children. Using an iPod, several small sheets of cardstock, and a variety of text-based media such as stickers, stamps, and stencils, I'm creating a body of work that represents the immediacy of my decisions based on my reactions to each song. This information will then be organized in several different ways to see if there is a subconscious reaction to music genre, male vs. female singer, length of song, etc. |
