Site 12 There has never been a place that I have felt more comfortable than in the wilderness. Whether it is fishing, hiking, skiing or more importantly camping, there has always been something about the outdoors that always makes me feel at ease. Since I graduated from high school in 2000, my friends and I have been camping at the same place in New Hampshire. For my seminar thesis proposal, I am going to chronicle the years of camping trips my longtime friends and I have been on over the past 6 years. I am compiling the many photos, keepsakes, video, and stories specific to each year; for example hiking for waterfalls, swimming at the natural pool and nighttime parties cookouts and other "events". All of these components I am taking these elements and creating an album/short story collection book, chapters being separated by year. Like everything in my life, music plays a big part in these trips. So this proposal will also include at least 1-2 compilation CD albums to accompany the book. Also because of the wealth of information and relevant significance to the overall theme, the work will branch to include silkscreen posters, T-Shirts, and a re-exploration of a micro-brew beer inspired by these trips. During this semester of study I will chronicle these summers accurately, to best convey the feeling and mood of these experiences through photo record, short stories, music and some inspired material to complement the overall. |
