Courtney Cooney — Marie-Antoinette
What is it about Marie-Antoinette? I propose to explore this question by researching her life, her legacy, and the visual evidence of her time. There is an Antoinette obsession that many others and I share starting from her time all the way to our present day culture. As I work with this material I will create a series of collages as well as books incorporating textual elements. (1 March 2010)

Kate Davidson — Spoiler Alert!
My plan is to continue with my poster series but in different contexts and formats. I will continue creating other posters dealing with the same inherent theme of the femme fatale and bad love
— e.g., continue working on the dual layer
pieces I began earlier in the Fall Semester. I will also be creating supplementary material such as books, and other forms of imagery that branch out from the posters, but add to them at the same time.
Re: process, I still plan on taking things from the actual films, but will also explore other sources in film and other media (literature, music) that deals with or connects with these themes, to see if I can incorporate this outside material into new creations. (15 December 09)

Sarah Surette — Scrapbooks
I’ve been working on three different scrapbooks so far. I’ve done a scrapbook with things I’ve found in my drawers and random pictures and extra scrap material I have. I made one only from pages in a Vogue magazine, and another about polka dots. After looking through some historical information about scrapbooks and discovering other practices that relate to scrapbooking, I plan on making a guide-book about these other practices — different ideas that scrapbook makers could incorporate into their own scrapbooks or just learn about for fun. Some examples of these other practices are friendship albums, photo albums, collage art, commonoplace books, extra-illustration books, pressed flower books, sketchbooks, yearbooks and more.
As for my gallery show, I was thinking of making an area where people can create a friendship album type of thing. I would have a desk and have plenty of supplies available for people to contribute a page. (15 December 09)
