Robot Warriors
I will research and study animators of today -- their styles, their techniques, and the programs that they use. With the information I gather I plan to create a series of animated movies of my own. The animators I would like to study work at Pixar and Dream Works. I am amazed by the animations produced by these studios; but even more amazed that they use the same basic tools such as shading, lighting, and texture to create realistic animated movies. I know the programs they use are more advanced, but the basic concept of animation begins with these tools. The object of this seminar is to gather as much information about the animation process as possible. I want to create and produce a series of short animations, in which there are eight realistic robots, each showcasing two different weapons to defend themselves. The robots will fight their battles until annihilation and the winner will move on to the finals. The series will consist of three discs with three battles on the first two discs and the final battle on the third. Discs one and two will contain four robots per disc and each will have one finalist; which means the final battle will be on the third disc along with extras. In addition to creating the series, I will design the packaging for each disc. It wasn't until I took 3D Animation that I was inspired to concentrate on animation in Senior Seminar. I believe Seminar is a great opportunity to further my knowledge in the area that interests me. Movies such as Finding Nemo, Shrek, Antz, and A Bug's Life show the realistic approach to animation. These movies are models that exist today.
