Two poems

by Stephanie Serson

Painting

Green
Lots of green
And A little blue
I have shrunken you
A favorite place
Now four feet tall
It became this place and me
I took the sign off its post
I painted over the other people
Just me in this place
No one would know

So many yellows and pinks
That I see
Colorful rocky path

Warming in the sun I remember
Glittering through
The tops of the trees

Oxycodone

Take
One or two by mouth
Every four
Hours
As needed
Pain
Flesh
Red
Smelling of Band-Aids
Barely awake
Soreness
Like pressure
Like stretching
Ninjas
Stretching
Sleeping
Awake and drooling
Sleeping
Pulling Pulling Pulling
Eyes closed sleeping
How did my mouth get open?
